No new fiction on the blog this week as I’ve not had time – mostly due to redecorating, an exciting, secret writing-related project and an exciting, secret non-writing-related project. Instead I thought I’d redirect people’s attention to some other blog posts I’ve written over the past few months.
When I’m not writing (or redecorating), I work for a digital agency based in Edinburgh. It’s an interesting place to work with lots of exciting stuff going on, one of which is the recent launch of our company blog. I’ve been contributing and have been going for a style that’s (hopefully) both informative and amusing.
I Know Almost Nothing – An inspection of the effect Google has had on geeks and that when you find any piece of information instantly, why bothering to learn stuff?
Four Golden Rules for Successful Blogging – Some advice on how to get a blog up and rolling, building upon the results in my recent Shortbread Statistics post here.
Don’t Talk About This – Commentary on the politics of super-injunctions in the UK and how they are rendered pointless by Twitter.
Night of the Living Cookies – An introduction to the unsettling world of undeletable “zombie” cookies.
elitebuilder7@hotmail.com – A bit of a rant about small businesses that don’t to register themselves proper domain names.
When’s the Revolution? – A (relatively positive) criticism that the next generation of web technology will never take off until people stop using Internet Explorer 6.
The jQuery Scale – This is the “scale” that I use to rate my fellow web developer’s programming skills.
